Veloura began with a simple obsession: finding places that have a soul. Places with a story behind them. Places worth the research, and worth returning to.
We weren't looking
to build a platform.
We were just people who traveled too much and ate too well, and kept hitting the same frustration. The apps showed us the same ten restaurants. The reviews were noise. The "hidden gems" were already on every influencer's story.
What we were really looking for wasn't a list. It was trust. A friend who actually knew: who'd sat at that table, talked to the owner, come back three times. Someone whose taste you understood before they even made the recommendation.
"Skip the generic. Find the places that feel like they were waiting for you."
That's how Veloura started. Not with a business plan, but a belief that the best discoveries come from people who genuinely care about where they eat and why it matters.
