Best Festivals in Thailand This High Season 2026/2027: Our Picks and the Complete Guide

Every high season, from November through January, Thailand becomes one of the most exciting festival destinations in Asia. The weather is at its best, people arrive from all over the world, and the 2026/2027 calendar is looking particularly packed.

The season starts in the north, with Mycelium Festival from 20 to 22 November and Double Dick Tiger from 26 to 29 November, both bringing people to the mountains around Chiang Dao.

December is when things really accelerate. Wonderfruit, now entering its 11th year, returns to The Fields in Chonburi from 3 to 7 December. One week later, Tomorrowland Thailand makes its highly anticipated Asian debut at Wisdom Valley from 11 to 13 December, followed by EDC Thailand at Laguna Phuket from 18 to 20 December.

The season continues straight through New Year. Bangkok hosts White Party Bangkok, one of Asia's biggest LGBTQ+ dance festivals, from 29 December to 3 January. If you want to spend New Year on the beach, a good alternative is Fly to the Moon on Koh Mak from 29 December to 2 January. From there, the festival trail moves south as Circoloco Thailand brings its Ibiza roots back to Phuket, before Beatforest takes things into nature in Khao Yai later in January.

From intimate gatherings in the mountains and community-led festivals surrounded by nature to electronic mega-events, cultural programming and all-night dance floors, Thailand's high season offers a surprisingly diverse festival landscape.

I have been to Wonderfruit three times and live in Bangkok, and this is the kind of guide I wish I had when I first started navigating Thailand's festival season. If you are planning to be in Thailand during the winter months, this guide breaks down what is happening, what makes each festival different, who it is best suited to, how to get there, where to stay, and how to make the most of the season, whether you are choosing just one festival or planning your entire trip around several of them.

Mycelium Festival: A Gathering in the Mountains

20 to 22 November 2026 · Chiang Dao, Chiang Mai

Photo: Mycelium

Mycelium is one of those festivals that still feels like a discovery. Taking place at Tiger Jungle Art Camp in Chiang Dao, around 70 kilometres north of Chiang Mai in the jungle, it brings together music, art, workshops, performances, nature and community over three days. The 2026 edition is Chapter V.

Musically, expect something much more intimate and exploratory than Thailand's major festivals. The programme includes spaces such as the Jungle Stage and Grounding Stage, with an emphasis on artists who fit the character and spirit of each space rather than simply chasing names. Some names for this year's edition: Elaheh, Basajan, NTFOLK, Pasuth, Rootsman Creation, Venn and many more.

Part of the charm is Chiang Dao itself. November is one of the best times to be in northern Thailand, with cooler temperatures and the mountains providing a completely different backdrop to the beach and city festivals later in the season.

Tickets: Full Festival Passes and Saturday Passes are available alongside a Kid Pass and an Albino Duo Package that includes two Full Passes with camping equipment. Phase 1 has ended. Phase 2 coming soon. Price range: 3,450 to 10,000 THB.

Getting there: Tiger Jungle Art Camp is approximately 70 kilometres from Chiang Mai, around one hour fifteen minutes by car. Festival shuttles from Chiang Mai and Pai are planned, with booking details released closer to the event.

Accommodation: Camping is part of the experience, with equipment rental available in limited quantities. Alternatively, stay around Chiang Dao and travel to the site.

Who it is for: People looking for something small, creative and community-driven. If you prefer discovering artists in the mountains to standing in front of a giant Mainstage, put this one on your list.

Double Dick Tiger: A Temporary Village in the Jungle

26 to 29 November 2026 · Chiang Dao, Chiang Mai

Photo: Double Dick Tiger

Double Dick Tiger is probably the most unusual festival on this list. It is less a conventional festival and more a temporary village deep in the jungle, built around community, nature, music and a strong DIY spirit.

The gathering stays deliberately small, with around 150 people in previous editions, and that scale changes everything. By the second day, you recognise almost everyone. DJs dance alongside the crowd, artists are participants rather than headliners, and there is no VIP area or hierarchy. The idea is simple: if you want to make the gathering better, you contribute something, whether that is art, food, a workshop, a skill or simply helping someone fix a broken tent.

The local Karen community is central to the festival. They help with the build, logistics, transport and food, and the gathering is shaped around their knowledge of the land rather than imposed on top of it. Nature comes first, and the festival follows.

Getting there is part of the experience. Reception disappears long before you arrive, and the final approach can involve hiking through muddy jungle trails and crossing streams before reaching camp. Previous editions have deliberately kept details minimal, with meeting points and lineups sometimes revealed only shortly before the festival.

Once inside, life is basic. You bring a tent, nights can get cold, the stream becomes your shower, toilets are simple and everyone is responsible for their own waste. Food is prepared together with the local community, and people naturally end up sharing meals, drinks, tools and stories.

And then there is the sound. For something this remote and DIY, the Funktion One system is almost absurdly good. The approach is not about making the forest louder, but creating a sound environment that works with the surroundings. The lineup mixes regional and international DJs with artists connected to Thailand and the local area.

That contrast is what makes Double Dick Tiger memorable. You have cows wandering near a serious sound system, DJs and villagers dancing in the same clearing, moonshine, bamboo cups, cold streams, tents and some of the cleanest sound you will hear in the jungle. Do not even ask how they manage to get those speakers out there.

Tickets: Early Birds at 8,000 THB available until 26 September. General Admission 10,000 THB after that. Tickets available on their website.

Getting there: Chiang Dao is around 70 kilometres north of Chiang Mai, but getting to the actual festival site is part of the adventure. Do not expect a conventional drop-off at a festival gate. Pack light enough that you can carry what you bring.

Accommodation: Camping is the experience. Bring your own tent, sleeping bag, flashlight and warm layers for the night. Facilities are intentionally basic.

Who it is for: People who are comfortable being off-grid, getting dirty and becoming part of the gathering rather than simply attending it. If you need luxury, perfect infrastructure and a detailed schedule weeks in advance, this is probably not for you. If you like intimate communities, underground music, nature and festivals that still feel genuinely unpredictable, Double Dick Tiger is one of the most special gatherings in Thailand.

Wonderfruit: The Festival That Defies Easy Description

3 to 7 December 2026 · The Fields at Siam Country Club, Chonburi

Wonderfruit Festival

Wonderfruit enters its 11th year in 2026, and it remains one of the most genuinely distinctive gatherings in Asia, possibly in the world.

Many people perceive Wonderfruit as a music festival, but it is not, at least not in the traditional sense. Music is an important part of the experience, but Wonderfruit is so much more than that. Built around Nature, Mind and Sound, it brings together music, art, food, wellness, architecture, family experiences, workshops, talks, sustainability and community, all coming together for five days at The Fields at Siam Country Club.

There are more than 100 chefs contributing to its food programme, from street food to fine dining, over 100 wellness practitioners offering everything from yoga and meditation to bodywork and breathwork, large-scale art and architectural installations created specifically for The Fields, talks and conversations exploring culture, sustainability and new ideas, and spaces designed simply for people to meet, explore and spend time together.

Sustainability is not treated as a side programme either. It runs through the way Wonderfruit is designed and operated, from eliminating single-use plastics to planting over 100,000 trees to questioning how temporary communities can exist more responsibly.

Then, of course, there is music. But even here, Wonderfruit follows its own path. Rather than building its identity around the biggest commercial names, the programme focuses on discovery, independent artists, unexpected collaborations, local talent and curators who understand the character of each space. Past artists have included FKJ, Four Tet, Patrick Watson, Floating Points, Salin, Acid Pauli, Rival Consoles, Tinariwen, Kangding Ray and Grandbrothers, with sounds stretching across electronic, world, experimental, live, jazz, disco, ambient and much more. Confirmed artists for 2026 include Tangerine Dream, Nubya Garcia, Gerd Janson, Marcel Dettmann, Goldcap, Nightmares on Wax, JakoJako, ORPHX, Jack Wyllie and many more. You will hear things at Wonderfruit that you are unlikely to hear anywhere else in the region.

Wonderfruit has more than 12 stages and music spaces, but calling them stages does not quite capture what some of them are. Many have their own architecture, atmosphere, musical identity and even their own rhythm within the five days.

Solar Stage is perhaps the most iconic example. The modular wooden structure designed by Gregg Fleishman only comes alive twice a day: for sunrise and sunset. It is not a stage you simply visit to see an artist. You go there for that particular moment when the music, architecture, landscape and changing light all come together.

The Quarry, designed by Jiro Endo, is something entirely different. Hidden away from the openness of The Fields, entering it feels like being catapulted into another world. It is immersive, intense and one of those places where you can easily lose track of both time and where you actually are.

Then there is the intimate Forest Stage, a hidden gem tucked inside the Ancestral Forest. Smaller, surrounded by nature and far removed from the feeling of a conventional festival stage, it rewards those who wander a little deeper. A newer addition is Baan Bardo by Wit Pimkanchanapong, bringing yet another distinctive identity into The Fields. And not to forget Creature Stage, one of Wonderfruit's great homes for live music.

These spaces are part of what makes Wonderfruit different. You do not simply move from stage to stage according to a timetable. You move between different environments, moods and communities.

The crowd at Wonderfruit is creative, international and community-oriented. Many people come back every year. The festival has built something genuinely rare: a community that happens to gather around a five-day event in a field in Chonburi.

One moment stays with me from my second visit. We were at the Moonlight Stage. It was a full moon night and it started to drizzle lightly. The DJ tried to cover the controller. But nobody left. The mood, the vibe, the energy in that moment was full of something that is hard to describe except to say it felt like joy and love in the most uncomplicated sense. That is the version of Wonderfruit that does not appear in any press release.

Tickets: The presale and first ticket sale for Wonderfruit 2026 have already sold out. The next opportunity to buy tickets will be in September, and if you already know you are going, that is the sale we would recommend aiming for. September phase (1 to 7 September): 5-Day Full Pass 10,900 THB, Weekend Pass 9,500 THB. October phase (1 to 7 October): 5-Day Full Pass 11,900 THB, Weekend Pass 10,500 THB. November phase (3 to 9 November): 5-Day Full Pass 12,900 THB, Weekend Pass 11,500 THB.

Getting there: The Fields at Siam Country Club are approximately 150 kilometres from Bangkok, with the journey usually taking around two to three hours depending on traffic. An official shuttle service between Pattaya and The Fields will be available, with Shuttle Passes expected to become available around late October or November. You can also travel independently by car or taxi.

Accommodation: General camping is on-site across five days and four nights. Check-in opens 4pm on 3 December, check-out by midday on 7 December. Bring your own tent. Shared bathrooms, charging points and water refill stations are available throughout the grounds. Boutique camping is available for more comfort. Slow Wonder is the premium on-site option. Hotels in Pattaya are the off-site alternative. Important: the Main Gate and Box Office do not operate around the clock. If you arrive after midnight, you will not be allowed in until they reopen at 8am.

Who it is for: People who want more from a festival than music. Creative professionals, artists, digital nomads, expats, sustainability-focused travellers, and anyone who has outgrown the festival experience as pure entertainment and wants something that feels more like a community gathering. If you want to see the biggest possible names on the biggest possible stages, Tomorrowland is one week later. Wonderfruit rewards a different kind of attention.

Veloura connection: Wonderfruit has been part of the Veloura team's story for many years. Some of us first experienced The Fields as Wonderers, while others have been involved behind the scenes, working on and programming the festival. That gives us a perspective from both sides. A separate Veloura Insider Guide to Wonderfruit 2026 is coming soon, sharing the details, hidden gems and recommendations you only get from people who truly know The Fields.

Tomorrowland Thailand: Asia's First Full-Scale Edition

11 to 13 December 2026 · Wisdom Valley, Chonburi

Photo: Tomorrowland

Tomorrowland needs no introduction globally, but this edition is different. This is the first time the Belgian festival has brought its full production to Asia. Not a touring version or a scaled-down edition. The real thing, including the Mainstage, and the Asian debut of two of Tomorrowland's most iconic stage concepts: CORE and FREEDOM.

My honest feelings about this are mixed. Competition is always good and I am genuinely excited to see Thailand on this level of the global map. But I also know that Wonderfruit had to shift its dates because Tomorrowland took the slot they had held for years, and that was a real disruption for a festival that had built something careful and community-first over a decade. At the same time, I would not compare the two. They are simply too different. Tomorrowland and Wonderfruit are not competing for the same person. They just happen to be in the same province in the same month.

Wisdom Valley is a 560-acre site in the hills of Chonburi province, around 15 minutes from The Fields at Siam Country Club where Wonderfruit takes place. Three new stages have been designed specifically for the Thai environment alongside the flagship stages from Belgium. The event is supported by the Thai government as part of a broader cultural and tourism initiative, and includes Thai cultural elements, local culinary offerings and stage designs informed by regional aesthetics.

Over 500 artists are expected to perform across six stages including Afrojack, Alok, DJ Tennis, Meltmode, Swedish House Mafia, Nakadia and many more. Total attendance across three days is expected to exceed 150,000. The theme is Consciencia.

If you have attended Tomorrowland in Belgium, expect different conditions. December in Pattaya is hot and humid, with average daytime highs of around 32 degrees Celsius. The Belgium edition in July averages around 24 degrees. Come prepared for the heat.

Tickets: A Day Pass costs approximately 5,100 THB. A three-day Full Madness Pass costs approximately 12,500 to 14,000 THB depending on tier. Official hotel packages start from approximately 24,695 THB and include accommodation, a three-day pass and shuttle transfers. All standard ticket phases have sold out. Check tomorrowland.com for any waitlist or future release options. Only buy from the official website. Scam tickets for this event are widespread. The total cost for the full Tomorrowland Thailand experience from overseas, including tickets, travel, accommodation, food and extras, is estimated at approximately USD 900 to 1,800.

Getting there: Bangkok is the nearest major hub. Suvarnabhumi (BKK) and Don Mueang (DMK) both serve Bangkok with connections from across Asia, Europe and beyond. The venue is approximately 120 kilometres from Bangkok, a two to three hour drive. Official hotel packages include dedicated shuttle transfers. Independent attendees need to arrange their own transport.

Accommodation: There is no DreamVille camping at Tomorrowland Thailand. Accommodation is in hotels. Official hotel packages are the easiest option since shuttles are included. Independent attendees should book Pattaya accommodation well in advance as December festival weekend prices will be significantly higher than usual.

Who it is for: Tomorrowland fans who want to experience the brand in Asia for the first time. People who want the largest possible festival experience with world-class production. International travellers combining the festival with a Thailand trip. EDM and big-room house fans. Anyone curious about what Tomorrowland looks like outside Belgium.

EDC Thailand: Under the Electric Sky in Phuket

18 to 20 December 2026 · Rhythm Park, Laguna Phuket, Phuket

Photo: EDC

I went to EDC in Mexico in February 2023 and it left a strong impression. The scale of production, the immersive art installations, the sheer commitment to the visual experience alongside the music. EDC knows what it is doing. The Thailand edition brings that same energy to a beach resort in Phuket, which is a genuinely different proposition from standing in a field in Chonburi. The Laguna Phuket resort complex gives EDC Thailand a setting that feels unlike any other festival on this list: nature, beach resort, Phuket days before and after the festival as part of the experience.

Confirmed artists for 2026 include Above and Beyond, Camelphat, Charlotte de Witte, Tiesto, Paul van Dyk and many more. The festival features multiple stages, immersive art installations, pyrotechnics and the signature Electric Sky production that EDC is known for globally.

The crowd skews younger on average than Wonderfruit and draws strongly from Singapore, Hong Kong, Japan and Korea alongside a significant Thai contingent and international travellers.

Tickets: A three-day GA Future Owl Experience Pass costs approximately 10,490 THB. A three-day VIP Future Owl Elevated Experience Pass costs approximately 16,490 THB and includes fast-track entry, dedicated viewing decks, air-conditioned restrooms and a beauty bar. Hotel EDC packages at Angsana Laguna Phuket combine a four-night stay with festival tickets, pool parties and EDC-themed experiences. Check edcthailand.com for current availability and pricing.

Getting there: Fly into Phuket International Airport (HKT). Direct flights from Bangkok take approximately one hour. Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Hong Kong and other Asian hubs have direct connections to Phuket. The Laguna Phuket venue is approximately 30 minutes from the airport.

Accommodation: Hotels within the Laguna Phuket resort complex are the closest to the venue and some are walkable or cycleable from Rhythm Park. Cassia Phuket is specifically noted as close. Bang Tao and Surin beaches offer quieter alternatives nearby. Patong suits people who want Phuket nightlife beyond the festival but is further from the venue.

Who it is for: People who want a festival combined with a proper beach trip. Phuket in December is at its best: dry, warm and clear. EDC Thailand works both as a standalone event and as the final chapter of a full December festival itinerary.

White Party Bangkok: Six Days of New Year Madness

29 December 2026 to 3 January 2027 · Bangkok

Photo: White Party Bangkok

If your Thailand trip extends through New Year, White Party Bangkok is difficult to ignore. What started in Bangkok has grown into Asia's largest gay dance festival, attracting more than 40,000 people from over 120 countries according to the organisers.

2026 is particularly special because White Party celebrates its 10th anniversary with AmaXon, a six-day programme of six events. The main venues are Paragon Hall and Nex Hall at Siam Paragon, alongside The River Club on the Chao Phraya.

This is not an intimate underground festival. Expect huge production, international DJs, performers, costumes and a crowd that travels to Bangkok specifically for this week.

Tickets: Tickets range from around 2,500 THB to 11,500 THB, depending on the event and pass type. You can buy tickets for individual parties or go for a multi-event pass if you are planning to experience the full White Party Bangkok programme.

Getting there: This is by far the easiest festival on this list logistically. Stay centrally in Bangkok and use BTS, MRT and taxis depending on the event.

Accommodation: Stay around Siam, Silom, Sathorn or central Sukhumvit. The festival also publishes official host hotel information.

Who it is for: The LGBTQ+ community and anyone looking for a huge international New Year's dance celebration rather than an outdoor camping festival.

Fly to the Moon: New Year on the Beach

29 December 2026 to 2 January 2027 · Koh Mak, Trat

Photo: Fly to the Moon

Fly to the Moon is one of the most unique ways to celebrate New Year in Thailand. What started as a small gathering among friends in 2013 has grown into an intimate boutique festival that takes over different corners of the peaceful island of Koh Mak.

Rather than building one huge festival site, the experience moves around the island. Expect beachside sundowners, hidden locations, multiple stages and music from local, regional and international artists. Previous editions have also included boat parties and cruises around the neighbouring islands.

But Fly to the Moon is not only about the parties. Days can be spent exploring Koh Mak, with previous programmes including yoga, sound healing, paddleboarding, kayaking, beach activities, coral conservation and other ways to experience the island. The result feels somewhere between a New Year festival and an island holiday. Koh Mak itself is quiet and relatively undeveloped, which makes the whole experience very different from celebrating New Year in Bangkok or at one of Thailand's large-scale festivals.

Tickets: Tickets for the 2026/2027 edition will be available through Megatix. Prices have not yet been announced. Keep an eye on the official ticket page, as New Year events on Koh Mak can fill up quickly.

Getting there: From Bangkok, travel to Trat and continue to Laem Ngop Pier, where you take a speedboat to Koh Mak. Book the boat in advance, especially around New Year.

Accommodation: Stay on Koh Mak and make the festival part of an island holiday. There are beachfront resorts, cottages and bungalows across the island, but New Year is a busy period so book accommodation early.

Who it is for: People who want to celebrate New Year with music but would rather be barefoot on an island than inside a huge club or mega-festival. Especially good for groups of friends who want to combine a festival, tropical holiday and New Year celebration in one trip.

Circoloco Thailand: Ibiza Meets the Andaman Sea

January 2027 · Baba Beach Club Natai, Phuket · Dates TBA

Photo: Circoloco

Circoloco needs little introduction if you are into underground electronic music. Born at DC10 in Ibiza, its Thailand edition takes that identity and puts it somewhere almost absurdly beautiful: Baba Beach Club Natai, surrounded by palms with the Andaman Sea behind it.

The previous Thailand edition expanded across two weekends, usually the second and third week of January, and drew more than 20,000 people, with artists including Michael Bibi, Mochakk, Adriatique, Seth Troxler, Palms Trax, DJ Tennis, Saoirse and Shanti Celeste.

The atmosphere changes completely as daylight disappears. Coconut trees, red lights and music gradually merge into one big tropical dance floor. And then there are the now famous afterparties in the mangroves. If you have seen videos online of people dancing surrounded by tropical nature and wondered where on earth they were, there is a good chance you have already encountered Circoloco Thailand. Wristbands for the afterparties can only be obtained through connections to artists or organisers.

Tickets: 2027 dates and ticket details are still TBA. Keep watching their socials for announcements.

Getting there: Baba Beach Club Natai sits north of Phuket, around 30 minutes from the airport. Arrange transport in advance rather than treating it like a Phuket Old Town club night.

Accommodation: Stay at Baba Beach Club if budget allows, or look around Natai and the surrounding area. Phuket gives you significantly more accommodation choices if you are happy to travel.

Who it is for: House and techno lovers who want credible underground programming but are not opposed to experiencing it barefoot under coconut trees.

Beatforest: Earth. Art. Music.

January 2027 · Bonanza Khao Yai · Dates TBA

Photo: Beatforest

Beatforest is probably the one on this list that many international visitors still do not know about. Founded in 2023, the festival is built around three simple ideas: Earth. Art. Music.

Taking place at Bonanza Khao Yai, Beatforest combines underground electronic music, experimental live acts, visual art and environmental activities. Previous editions have invited festival-goers to plant trees, with the long-term idea of regenerating what was once barren land.

The music is taken seriously too. Recent editions have mixed Thai, Asian and international artists across techno, experimental and live music, including names such as Barker, Minna no Kimochi, Meuko! Meuko!, Spekki Webu and u.r.trax. It is intimate, local and still relatively under the radar. We do not think it will stay that way for very long.

Tickets: 2027 details are TBA. For reference, the 2026 Regrowth Edition offered a limited pass at 1,800 THB.

Getting there: Bonanza Khao Yai is around two hours from Bangkok by car. Previous editions have also offered festival shuttles from Bangkok.

Accommodation: Stay around Bonanza or elsewhere in Khao Yai and turn it into a weekend away from Bangkok. Previous editions have also offered camping and accommodation options on site.

Who it is for: People into underground and experimental music, art and nature who want something smaller and more local than Thailand's international mega-festivals.

The Pattaya Corridor: How Two Festivals Became a Season

One of the most interesting things about December 2026 is the geography. Wonderfruit ends on 7 December and Tomorrowland starts on 11 December. Both take place in Chonburi province, only around 15 minutes apart by car.

That four-day window between the two festivals does not have to be dead time. Stay in Pattaya, explore the coast, eat well and recover from five days at Wonderfruit before Tomorrowland begins. If you are planning to attend both, the itinerary almost writes itself.

Another option is to head back to Bangkok for a few days. With so many international and regional artists in Thailand around this period, the week between the festivals is likely to be busy with parties, club nights, pop-ups and other events across the city. Many artists tend to stay in the region and play additional shows while they are here, so keep an eye on what gets announced closer to December.

The timing is particularly interesting this year. Wonderfruit shifted its dates earlier in 2026, with Tomorrowland arriving in Chonburi the following week. The result is that for two weeks in December, Chonburi becomes one of the most concentrated festival destinations in the region, with Bangkok just a short trip away.

For anyone coming to Thailand for both festivals, it creates the perfect opportunity to turn two weekends into a much bigger trip.

The Full Thailand High Season Festival Itinerary

Wonderfruit

If you are doing one festival, choose based on the experience you want. Double Dick Tiger for something raw, DIY and deeply community-driven. Mycelium for an intimate mix of music, art and nature in Chiang Dao. Wonderfruit for discovery, culture, food, wellness and community. Tomorrowland for pure scale and spectacle. EDC Thailand for a large-scale electronic festival experience in Phuket. White Party Bangkok for a huge LGBTQ+ New Year celebration. Fly to the Moon for an intimate New Year on the beach. Circoloco Thailand for underground electronic music in a tropical setting. Beatforest for a smaller local gathering where earth, art and music come together. If I had to choose just one, it would be Wonderfruit.

If you only have the time and budget for two festivals, there are a few combinations that make particular sense. Mycelium and Double Dick Tiger is the natural northern pairing. Both happen around Chiang Dao just a few days apart, so you can stay in the north and turn the time between them into a proper Chiang Mai and Chiang Dao trip. Wonderfruit and Tomorrowland is the natural December pairing, happening just days apart in the same area of Chonburi. If you missed out on Tomorrowland tickets, Double Dick Tiger and Wonderfruit would be my personal alternative. You go from a tiny DIY jungle gathering in the north to five days of music, art, food, wellness and discovery at The Fields.

If you have a little more time, Wonderfruit and EDC Thailand combines depth and discovery with a huge electronic festival in Phuket, while Wonderfruit and Fly to the Moon takes you from The Fields to an intimate New Year on Koh Mak. Later in the season, Fly to the Moon and Circoloco works perfectly if you want beaches and electronic music, while Fly to the Moon and Beatforest gives you a beautiful contrast between island life and nature in Khao Yai.

If you are doing the whole season: Start in the mountains of Chiang Dao with Mycelium and Double Dick Tiger, then move south to Chonburi for Wonderfruit and Tomorrowland. Fly to Phuket for EDC Thailand, celebrate New Year either in Bangkok with White Party or barefoot on Koh Mak at Fly to the Moon, return to Phuket for Circoloco and finish surrounded by nature at Beatforest in Khao Yai. At that point, it is less a festival itinerary and more a two-month journey through Thailand.

My personal pick: If I were building my own high season journey, I would start in the north with Double Dick Tiger, head to Wonderfruit one week later, and, if staying through New Year, finish with Fly to the Moon on Koh Mak. Mountain. Jungle. Beach. Three very different sides of Thailand and three completely different festival experiences.

What to Expect During Thailand's High Season

November to January is one of the best times to travel through Thailand, but conditions vary depending on where your festival takes you.

In Chiang Dao, expect cooler mountain weather, especially at night. Pack warm layers if you are camping at Double Dick Tiger or spending late nights outdoors at Mycelium.

Chonburi and Bangkok are generally warm and comfortable in December, with lower humidity and little rain. Light, breathable clothing works during the day, but a layer for late nights at Wonderfruit is worth bringing.

Phuket and Koh Mak stay tropical and warm, perfect for EDC, Circoloco and Fly to the Moon, although occasional rain is always possible. For every festival, bring sun protection, comfortable shoes and stay hydrated.

Why Bangkok Is Your Festival Hub

Bangkok is the natural base for Thailand's high season festival trail. International flights arrive here, Wonderfruit and Tomorrowland are only a few hours away in Chonburi, Beatforest is within driving distance in Khao Yai, and domestic connections make Chiang Mai, Phuket and Trat easy to reach.

During festival season, the city fills with parties, pop-ups, art events and additional shows, especially while international and regional artists are travelling through Thailand. White Party Bangkok also makes the city a destination in its own right over New Year.

Stay tuned for the Veloura Event Calendar, where we will be sharing what is happening in Bangkok throughout the season, including the smaller events that rarely make it into festival guides.

If it is your first time in the city, our Bangkok guides cover where to eat, drink, explore and stay, while Veloura members can access exclusive perks at partner venues across the city. Our Bangkok guides are at veloura-gems.com/guide.

Plan Your December

Three major international festivals take place in Thailand in December 2026. Wonderfruit runs 3 to 7 December in Chonburi near Pattaya. Tomorrowland Thailand runs 11 to 13 December also in Chonburi near Pattaya. EDC Thailand runs 18 to 20 December at Laguna Phuket in Phuket.
All standard ticket phases have sold out. Check tomorrowland.com for any waitlist options or future releases. Hotel packages which include tickets may have limited availability. Do not buy from unofficial sellers.
Wonderfruit is a five-day multi-experience festival combining music, food, art, wellness, and sustainability with around 25,000 attendees per day and a deliberately independent, non-commercial identity. Tomorrowland is a three-day electronic music festival with six stages and 50,000 attendees per day, one of the biggest festival brands in the world. They are 15 minutes apart in Chonburi and one week apart in December.
Yes. Wonderfruit ends 7 December and Tomorrowland starts 11 December. The four-day gap between them is ideal for recovery and exploration. Both are in Chonburi province, approximately 15 minutes apart.
EDC Thailand is the Southeast Asian edition of Electric Daisy Carnival, one of the world's largest electronic music festival brands. The 2026 edition runs 18 to 20 December at Rhythm Park inside the Laguna Phuket resort complex on Phuket island. It is in its third year in Thailand.
Wonderfruit and Tomorrowland are in Chonburi, approximately 90 to 150 kilometres from Bangkok. Official festival shuttles, private cars, and buses from Ekkamai terminal all operate. For EDC, fly from Bangkok to Phuket (approximately one hour).
Now. December 2026 is the most competitive accommodation and ticket period Thailand has ever seen for festival tourism. Tomorrowland standard tickets are already sold out. Wonderfruit early bird tiers sell fast. Hotels near festival venues in Pattaya and Phuket will be at premium December pricing. The earlier you book, the better your options and prices.
Yes. December is peak season with excellent weather across the country. Warm, dry, and clear. 28 to 32 degrees across most of Thailand. The festival season adds a significant international crowd to what is already one of the best months to visit.

All festival dates, ticket prices and details are based on information available as of August 2026. Always verify current information on official festival websites before booking. Prices and availability change as events approach.
